The Council's proposed scheme severely reduces the amount of usable leisure space and limits the number and range of sports activities that can be provided for. 

Among those organisations losing their long-established homes at the King Alfred are: 

• Brighton & Hove Amateur Boxing Club: the Boxing Club has been part of the King Alfred site for 80+ years. 

• Fitlab (formerly Cheetahs Gym): Fitlab has been serving the community for 50 years.

• My Helm CIC: My Helm, which rents space at the King Alfred, provides a safe space where kids & teens can attend fun and engaging workshops, after school clubs and holiday clubs in a welcoming community, whilst building friendships along the way!
